Dip. in Tourism, Economics and Hotel Management
The Colombo university's Department of Economics has called
applications from prospective candidates for enrollment in its diploma
course in Tourism, Economics and Hotel Management.
Senior lecturer attached to the Department of Economics Dr. Suranga
Silva said this course was started to ensure the direct involvement of
the university in promoting human resources needed for the tourism
industry to attract 2.5 million tourists to Sri Lanka in 2016. The
subjects taught include Economics, Social Science, Human Resources,
Management, Accounting, IT and laws pertaining to tourism.
The one year course can be followed through distance education too if
desired. Applicant should have the GCE Ordinary Level or Advanced Level
or similar qualification and ability to work in English with experience
in the sector.
