The global business community's attention has been drawn on the
ongoing development in port and airport infrastructure.
The country is now well positioned to be a maritime, aviation and a
logistics hub and time is correct for investors to look at Sri Lanka for
long-term gains despite the slowing down in the global economy, Colombo
Shipping Academy Chief Executive Officer Rohan Masakorala said.
“We could witness a large gathering of international participants
attending the first ever major International Association of Ports &
Harbour (IAPH) conference together with Sri Lanka's first ever shipping,
Logistics & Aviation exhibition organized by CEMS Global in Colombo,” he
said.
Marketing our capabilities and showcasing the developing
infrastructure is a key element for the country to position itself as an
emerging leader in Asia. We need to give first hand experience to
probable clients and investors about the country.
International forums and exhibitions will give an excellent
opportunity for the country to attract investors in the field of
logistics.
Many in the world at this moment do not know what Sri Lanka could
offer as a destination.
The highly intelligent workforce, who is very friendly and English
speaking, adds great value to any service industry. This has been proven
beyond doubt in the past as we have shown great dynamism in various
fields of businesses. |
