Bileeta offers affordable ERP systems

The popular belief is that Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions are complicated and are meant for large organizations. This misconception is most probably due to the fact that one often hears about ERP solutions being extremely expensive, taking very long to implement, generally not delivering what the customer really wants and incompatibility with business processes.

Sanji de Silva

All of the above concerns, as well of many others have been addressed by Bileeta, a locally developed ERP System. Bileeta has been developed over a period of 10 years using the latest technologies to offer maximum level of configurability which in turn can support unique Sri Lankan requirements.

Bileeta has been designed to support medium to large enterprises. More and more enterprises are realizing the vital importance of having the correct information on a timely basis to succeed in these competitive times. Having a cost effective system to provide such information has become a must have for most of these organizations.

“Enterprises are aware of the advantages of ERP and have implemented solutions that are primarily designed for a western framework of doing business, ignoring the nuances and widely diverse business practices and systems in Asia. What we have done here is to design a solution that allows local companies to retain their unique character while maximizing and enhancing their business processes to achieve optimum results,” said Bileeta Chief Executive Officer Sanji De Silva.

Sadly, general know-how on the availability of such solutions is lacking. Elaborating on the difficulty of implementing ERP in Sri Lanka, he said, “Local business practices, a lack of qualified personnel and the high cost of ownership have hitherto made it difficult for ERP solutions to be successful in the Sri Lankan market.”

“Seeing the real need to bring this type of process management to businesses here in Sri Lanka, we have developed our solution over a 10-year period to ensure that all factors that pertain to the Sri Lanka business climate have been taken into consideration. In addition, the flexibility of the solution we offer here at Bileeta addresses a long-felt need both locally and regionally,” said Bileeta Chief Operation Officer Sanka Weerasinghe.

The problem the world over is that about 57% of all ERP implementations are “challenged”, i.e., gone over budget and taken much longer than planned. In this environment, Bileeta has achieved a 100% success rate so far, resulting in a set of extremely satisfied customers.

How has Bileeta achieved this? Firstly Bileeta uses only local professionals as their employees.

This has resulted in the development of its product much more cost-effectively relative most of its competitors. Secondly, Bileeta also uses only local resources for all its implementations, unlike most others who have to get down resources from overseas, adding further to Bileeta’s cost advantage.
