Sailors cruise to victory

[INTRO] N.C. Fernando and E.A.C. Sanjeewa of Sri Lanka Navy SC made sure that they cruise to a convincing 2-0 win over Saunders SC in the Dialog Champions League stage 20 soccer encounter worked off at Kelaniya Football Complex on Saturday. It was fishing in the rough sea for both teams until Fernando found the net in the 70th minute while Sanjeewa scored another one six minutes later.

Ratnam beat Blue Star

Ratnam SC secured another victory over Blue Star SC early in the first half when J.B.R. Lasantha (31st minute) and E.B. Channa (40th minute) netted a goal each at City Football Complex on the same day.

A.C.M. Riyas score the only consolation for for Blue Star and the match ended at 1-2 in favour of Ratnam SC.

Equal honours

Despite of the early lead with A.A.F. Rahuman’s goal in the 22nd minute Renown could not stop their opponent B.A.R. Jayavilal scoring the equalizer for Sri Lanka Police in his home ground, midway in the second half to end the game in a draw on Saturday .

Younger Don Bosco

Don Bosco had the better of New Youngs SC by 1-0 at Albert F. Peiris Stadium, Wennappuwa on Sunday.

W.I.P. Silva managed to defeat New Young’s defence in the last minute of the game.

Nandimithra fight back

Sri Lanka Air Force were as free as birds until 66th minute of the game after having a lead of 2-0 over Nandimithra SC when H.A.M. Kumara found the net to score the first goal for his team.

Towards the end of the game N.L.S. Gayashan managed to bring the equalizer for Nandimithra SC. S. Sanjeewa and D.N. Weligamage scored goals for SL Air Force.

Soldiers lose hope

Java Lane ended their game in a draw with much fancied Sri Lanka Army SC at City Football Complex on Sunday.

Sri Lanka Army SC who are the second best in the points table did not give a fair reason for the fans at this weekend.
