Attack on bus crew: four suspects remanded

Narahenpita Police yesterday produced 29 suspects before Colombo additional magistrate Mahee Wijeweera, for their alleged involvement in the attack on several persons, including bus drivers and conductors attached to the 103 bus route in Narahenpitiya.

Four suspects were remanded till today. The other 25 suspects were granted bail on a bond of Rs 5,000 with a surety each.

The magistrate directed Narahenpita Police to submit a comprehensive report on the four suspects who were remanded till today.

Attorneys Madusanka Hewasitharura, Anton Senanayake and Gunasiri Lunuwela appeared for the suspects.

Narahenpitiya police appeared for the prosecution.
