Atamie International School opens new building at Ragama

Atamie International School Wattala moved her Ragama branch to a new sophisticated building at Ragama. The long awaited new premises is a four storey building to cater upto International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Ordinary Level (O/L) standards and the building was declared opened by Manager People's Bank Wattala Dayananda Ranasinghe.

Today Atamie has branched out to three excellent branches at Ragama, Minuwangoda and Kotahena totalling to 2000 students. Atamie has classes from pre school up to London advanced levels (A/L's) and trains children for Edexcel London examinations.

Atamie has produced many best results during the past years in the IGCSE and General Certificate of Education (GCE) A/L examinations, said Dr Azard Uduman.

Atamie is the only school in the island that gives international education for a very reasonable price Dr Uduman said.

The school fees that is very much affordable to all middle class in the society gives them opportunity to educate their children in the English Medium and gives them the edge in the society, he said. Therefore the parents of rural areas are benefitted to give their children quality English education at an affordable price in their own home town.

As a special feature of Atamie policy and in keeping with the government trilingual policy Atamie teaches Tamil Language to all Sinhala students and Sinhala Language to all Tamil students.

All other subjects are taught in the English Medium so that they become competent in all three languages.

ICT is given importance in the school curriculum and students from grade one is taught computers stated Dr Uduman in his opening speech.

The school's top management comprises of Founder Managing Director/Chief Principal Dr Azard Uduman, AFSC Principal and Director of Education Yvonne Dias, Vice Principal ASNW Shyami Samarasinha, Vice Principal – Kotahena Branch Narmadha Spelmen, Head of Ragama Branch Ishanka Fernando, Vice Principal Minuwangoda Branch Sumali Dayaratne.
