The most popular TV commercial of the year has been awarded to Sarva Integrated for the advertisement titled “Thembili” which they developed for their client Lanka Bell at the Peoples Awards popularly known as the “POPAwards” concluded on Thursday the second of January at the Waters Edge.

This is the second POP award Sarva Integrated has won for the work they have done for Lanka Bell. The first being for the TV commercial titled “Stella – kattiya set wela” which also won many other awards and accolades.

Unlike other awards based on the opinions of a panel of judges The POP awards scheme is unique as it reflects the true pulse of the people since the awards are based on the outcome of a research done by AC Nielsen with a sample of over 5000 people throughout the island.

“We have always been proud that our focus at Sarva Integrated has been solely on winning hearts, minds and market share for our clients. We have NOT diluted this effort by running behind awards. Being awarded the most popular commercial of the year in a scheme where the actual consumer is the judge proves that we are walking the talk” said Sarva Managing DirectorChrishantha Jayasinghe.

“Sarva has consistently developed effective clutter busting commercials for us helping us to make our advertising spend twice as effective as our competition” said Prasad Samarasinghe the Managing Director of Lanka Bell “with them by our side we have seen our brand grow from strength to strength in the last seven years. This award is proof of that” he further added.

The commercial which received the highest amount of votes was one of three executions produced for Lanka Bell titled “Respecting Sri Lankan Values”. This particular execution was about the hospitality us Sri Lankans are famous for and showed an absolute stranger being offered a thembili by a rural couple when he stopped by their house to ask for directions. The other commercials which were shortlisted for this award were Airtel class room, CIC Bittara Vee and Anchor 5+.

“At no point in this commercial do we show a phone, all what we say is that as a Sri Lankan company we respect Sri Lankan values.

“We are really thankful to our client for trusting us and having the courage to produce a commercial which does not show product” said Sarva Integrated Creative Director Prageeth Prasanjaya who worked on this campaign. Sarva Integrated has been developing a solid reputation for creating work that cuts through the clutter and provides return on investment says an industry analyst.

Some of their key clients in addition to Lanka Bell include Dimo (Mercedes Benz, TATA, Bosch, Osram, Corporate) Union Assurance, Hutch, Pan Asia Bank, Chevron Lubricants, Phoenix Plastics Browns and TVS Motorbikes and Three Wheelers.
