Cambrians in a strong position

Prince of Wales College has already grabbed a first innings win and in a strong position against Isipatana College, Colombo when they meet in their inter-school under 19 cricket match in Colombo.

Taking the first lease Isipatana were all out for 179 runs with Charith Rajapaksa top scoring with 86 runs which included nine fours and two sixes.

In reply at the close, Cambrians were 200 for 3 with Shanuka Dulaj unbeaten on 84 with 13 fours and skipper Tarindu Dilshan 41 and have associated an unfinished fourth wicket partnership of 117 runs.

Earlier, opener Suchira Fernando gave a fine start with 46 runs which included seven hits to the ropes and two over.

Chief scores:

Isipatana: 179 (Charith Rajapaksa 86, Nividu Janeesha 3/21, Shanuka Dulaj 2/25, Thilan Nimesh 2/31, Jayanga Peiris 3/33).

Prince of Wales: 200/3 (Suchira Fernando 46, Shanuka Dulaj 84 n.o, Tarindu Dilshan 41 n.o).
