New concept for Weerawila prison
The Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Ministry
is to develop the Weerawila prison as an environmental prison in
collaboration with the Tourism Ministry, Rehabilitation and Prison
Reforms Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera said.

Eleven nabbed for multi-media screen theft
Wadduwa Police arrested 11 employees of a
company in Colombo who had stolen a multi-media screen valued around
Rs 150,000 from a hotel in Wadduwa. Police recovered the stolen
property from the possession of a suspect. Investigations revealed
that 11 employees from a company in Colombo had come to the hotel to
decorate the main hall for a wedding.
