Lanka to export wool

Wool is to be exported from Sri Lanka to Asian countries for the first time.

This is been initiated by a young entrepreneur in Matale, M. Nahim who is currently in the retail business.

Nahim intends to use 50 acres in Pallekele and would further invest Rs. 20 million for this operation which would be a Board of Investment project.

He said that sheep would b imported from Malaysia and the project would commence end of this year. He is also looking at setting up poultry in the same land.
