Bloomfield well set for a win

Bloomfield, after securing a good first innings lead, are on the verge of an outright win over NCC after the second day in their Sri Lanka Cricket conducted Premier League Tier A Tournament three day match continued at Bloomfield grounds on Monday.

NCC are short of 276 runs to avoid an innings defeat with 9 wickets remaining.

Earlier they were all out for 213 in the first innings in reply to Bloomfield massive score of 500 for 6 declared with the help of a massive partnership of 302 between Chamara Silva (158) and Chintaka Jayasinghe (173).

Bloomfield: 500 for 6 dec. (Chamara Silva 158, Chintaka Jayasinghe 173 no, Sohan Boralessa 2 for 117, Roshan Lakmal 2 for 147 )

NCC: 213 ( Muditha Fernando 55, Yohan de Silva 41, Upul Indrasiri 5 for 62 ) and 11 for 1

Ragama CC in command

Chilaw Marians were 106 for 4 in the first innings in reply to Ragama CC's total of 495 runs all out on the second day of another encounter of the same tournament continued at Colts grounds.

Ragama CC: 495 all out ( Ian Daniel 140, Indika de Saram 88, Nayana Fernando 65, Janaka Gunaratne 3 for 73)

Chilaw Marians: 106 for 4 ( Geeth Kumara 36, Nilanka Premaratne 2 for 26 )

Chanaka steer Lankan CC

A brilliant knock of 99 by Chanaka Wijesinghe and Damitha Hunukumbura's 78 helped Lankan CC to amass a formidable total of 288 in reply to Baduraliya SC's first innings total of 184.

Asanka Silva grabbed 5 wickets including a hat trick to restrict Lankan CC below 300 run mark.

In reply Baduraliya CC were 33 for 2 at close of play on the second day.

Baduraliya CC: 184 and 33 for 2

Lankan CC: 288 (Chanaka Wijesinghe 99, Damitha Hunukumbura 78, Asanka Silva 5 for 91)

Ali shines for Moors

Moeen Ali was unbeaten on 107 to lift Moors SC's total to 177 for 4 in reply to a declared total of 459 for 9 by SSC on the second day at Moors grounds on Monday.

SSC: 459 for 9 ( Thilan Samaraweera 148, Geeth Alwis 57, Dasun Shanaka 64, Jeffrey Vandersay 3 for 104 )

Moors SC: 177 for 4 ( Moeen Ali 107 no , Suresh Wickckram 2 for 50 )

Tamil Union fight back

Veteran hit man Jeewantha Kulathunga (80), Kithruwan Vithanage (80) and Gayashan Weerasekara's knock of 70 not out lifted the Tamil Union total to 307 for 4 in reply to Colts CC first innings total of 308 all out.

Colts CC: 308 ( Roshen Silva 84, Akshu Fernando 50, Isuru Udana 3 for 49)

Tamil Union: 307 for 4 (Jeewantha Kulathunga 80, Kithruwan Vithanage 69, Gayashan Weerasekara 70 no, Sachithra Serasinghe 51, Viraj Pushpakumara 3 for 89)
