Ratnam tops the points table

Ratnam SC overcame Java Lane SC by 2-1 at Kelaniya Football Complex
in their Dialog Champions League stage 15 match last Sunday. Channa
booted the first goal for Ratnam in the 17th minute and Branudeen found
the equalizer for Java Lane six minutes later. It was L Santha netted
the winning goal for Ratnam to remain on the top of the points table
with 32 points.
Renown SC moved a step forward when they defeated Saunders SC by 2-0
at City Football Complex on the same day. Gunaratne and Priyadarshana
scored goals. Saunders who were at fifth position earlier, dropped to
eighth in the points table by stage 15.
Sri Lanka Navy SC had the better of Blue Star SC by 1-0 at Vernon
Fernando Stadium in Kalutara on Saturday. R M J Dammika netted the only
goal for the sailors. They moved up to the fifth position of the table.
Sri Lanka Army drew their game with Don Bosco SC at Negamob. Don Bosco
led the game at the end of the first half with a beauty from M D D
Kumara but S A D N Perera equalized for Army towards the end of the
game.
Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Police SC had the same result in
the game worked off at Baddegana Football Complex. Police were
victorious with a goal until the very last moment when Sanjeewa netted a
goal to equalize in the 90th minute.
New Youngs, despite their lead for more than 80 minutes of play, had
to satisfy with a draw with Nandimiththra SC at Albert Peris Stadium,
Wennappuwa. L E Innocent netted two goals for New Young's while Anil
Shantha and Asmeer scored for Nandimiththra.
