Kegalu Vidyalaya gained a first innings win over
Asoka Vidyalaya in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match
concluded at the Public Grounds, Kegalle yesterday. Highlight of the
match was the good all-round performance of Bimshendra Ranaweera for
Kegalu Vidyalaya who captured a match bag of 8 for 132 and also top
scored with a neat 65 which had 10 fours. He put on 95 for the first
with Lahiru Perera who made 53 with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

St. Sylvester’s College registered a first
innings victory over St. Anthony’s College Kandy in their
inter-school cricket match concluded at Katugastota yesterday. St
Sylvester skipper Nuwantha Ekanayake scored 70 and W.M. Woods scored
an unbeaten 88 in the second innings for St. Anthony’s. Nimesha
Mendis had a match bag of 110 for 8 wickets.

Vidyalian star allrounder and skipper Sanka
Ramesh with a superb bowling spell of 5 for 23 ripped through the
formidable batting line up of Sri Devananda Vidyalaya, Ambalangoda
and guided them to an innings and five runs win. The match ending at
1.45 pm in their inter-school under 19 tournament cricket match
