Mama Venama Malak to be staged in Kandy

Nalaka Swarnatileke's latest stage drama 'Mama Venama Malak' will be staged in several schools in Kandy soon.

The play will go on boards the auditoriums of Pushpadana College on January 12 and Mahamaya Girls' College on January 13. It will be staged at Kingswood College on January 14 at 10.30 am, 2 pm and 5 pm.

The play was previously staged at Kingswood College in October 2011. This is the first time that it will run for three days in Kandy.

'Mama Venama Malak' relates the tale of Gimhani, a studious girl who is equally talented at playing basketball. It encourages youths to explore their aesthetic talents. The play will also be staged at Lionel Wendt theatre, Colombo, on January 29 at 6 pm.
