PCH reflects on its successful regional operations in 2011

PC House PLC, the leader in ICT in Sri Lanka, looks back at 2011 and takes stock of the strategic changes and developments that took place within the company, forecasting the strategies in business operations, distribution and retail that will be seen in 2012.

Commenting on the effect of broadening the distribution network in 2011 S H M Rishan, Chairman and CEO of PCH stated, "The contribution of the new branches is intense to say the least. In the first six months of the financial year 2011-2012 PCH has increased its turnover by 25 percent declaring a turnover of Rs 1.95 billion, spurring a growth in gross profit of 16 percent. Looking at the numbers it is hard to deny the positive effect of the expanded distribution network on the bottom-line."

In 2011, PCH regional network expanded strategically adding seven new branches located throughout the island, and the upgrading of the Kandy branch to a 9 to 9 super-store, making the total branch network to 38. The new branches were opened in Matale, Kegalle, Galle, Batticaloa, Mullativu, Nuwaraeliya, and Monaragala.

These branches have now become sources of ICT for the people and distribution centers for small scale resellers throughout these specific districts.

"The opening of branches in the capital cities of the provinces is a strategic move to support the development of the booming ICT sector needs in these areas, while also broadening the distribution network of PCH, allowing us to reach areas we have never been able to reach," said Thufail Musadeen, Head of Retail and Regional Operations at PCH.

"The immediate demand and revenue received from the branches reflect the accuracy of their placement, and reflect the growth of the PCH brand name as a trusted, reliable corporate identity."

Apart from the regional distribution, PCH possesses a chain of retail outlets situated in the heart of Colombo, catering to the urban clientele offering a comprehensive ICT products and solutions portfolio. Recently, PCH established a new SBU that focuses the niche market of small and medium scale businesses.

The strategically located network of retail and regional outlets that totals to 38 is the widest distribution coverage offered by an ICT solutions provider in the country. Furthermore, PCH supplies a portfolio of products offered by over thirty world renowned brands that satisfies all ICT needs of the market.

The company is poised to enter in to new partnerships with few other international ICT brands in near future to further enrich their assortment of products and services.

PCH is the new corporate brand identity for PC House PLC which was recently listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

The new brand identity reflects the change from a family owned business to a public company with a vision to be the benchmark for ICT in Sri Lanka. PCH was recognized as the 50th most valuable brand in Sri Lanka for 2011, in the Brand Finance with an A+ brand rating.

PC House was incorporated as a limited liability company in 2000, having commenced business in 1997 and became PC House PLC.
