Three held in statue heist

Kahatagasdigiliya Police arrested three persons who stole two steel statues and a sword from a Dewala in Warapathana. The suspects had removed the historical valuables from Kudakatharagama Dewala in Tikkampathana, Kahatagasdigiliya on December 23 and escaped from the area to hide in Maradankadawala where they were arrested. They were produced in Anuradhapura magistrate’s court and remanded till January 11.
