According to minister Sirisena, the new Acts and amendments will make this year a revolutionary year in the health sector.

”Work on all such Bills and amendments have been completed. The new Bills and amendments will see drastic changes in the health sector,” he said.

Minister Sirisena pointed out that the main objective of the proposed Acts and amendments is to further strengthen the free health service and offer the best service to the public through the state hospital system.

He said he is doing his best for the health sector as the Health Minister and expects officials and health staff to follow his example.

“No health sector employee can be bound by an eight hour duty.

They should carry out their duties round the clock,” minister Sirisena added.
