ANCL recorded Rs 5 m profit last year - Chairman

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd recorded a Rs five million
profit last year, said Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara.
Addressing employees for the New Year, the Chairman thanked the staff
who contributed towards this achievement.
The Chairman added that he believes that ANCL is the only state
institution which pays such a high Cost of Living allowance.
“Lake House is also the only state institution which pays a four and
a half months bonus and an attendance bonus,” he added.
Chairman Padmakumara also said grants had also been allocated to
provide schoolbooks and bags for children of employees, to offer gifts
for employees’ children who get through the year five scholarship
examination and for employees to purchase books in September.
He added that the national newspapers are involved in a commendable
service.
“We earned Rs. 663 million by selling national newspapers and Rs.
2,270 million through advertisements. It is our duty to communicate the
government’s development activities to the people and work to carry
forward the Mahinda Chinthanaya - Vision for the Future,” the Chairman
said. |
