Sinthuja clinches triple crown

S. Sinthuja of Union College, Jaffna clinched a triple crown by
winning women's open singles, girls' U-17 singles, girls U-15 singles
titles and walked away with the girls most outstanding player award in
the North and East Provinces Table Tennis Championship which concluded
at the Jaffna Central College recently. M. Sageevan of Jaffna Central
College won a double (U-17 boys' singles and U-19 boys' singles) to
emerge boys' most outstanding player.

The men's open singles title has been won by L. Vijithan of Jaffna
Central College beating his school mate B. Ajanth in two sets. Sinthuja
who performed well in the District level defeated S. Vasantha Rubini of
Rambakulam M.V., Vavunia in the women's open singles final.
The tournament has been conducted by the Nilaveli Peace Village in
collaboration with the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka. Abans Ltd
sponsored the event. The Jaffna Central College Principal was the chief
guest at the award ceremony.
