Tourism targets US$ 850 m
Fulfills set predictions for 2011:
The country’s tourism industry is confident of
reaching US $ 850 million revenue by end of this year. The industry
has already reached $ 760m by end November and hopeful to end the
year by reaching the US$ 850 mark. “We have achieved targets set for
the year and are expecting to record US $ 850 million revenue by end
of 2011.

The Sri Lankan IT sector which commands a high
value addition compared with many other industries posted a revenue
of US $ 250.3 million with an impressive 46% growth rate in 2010 as
against the year 2009, according to a survey conducted by the Export

ATS ELGI to expand business in Lanka
ATS ELGI a leading manufacturer and distributor
of automotive service equipment in India will expand its business in
Sri Lanka by entering the north and east market shortly. ATS ELGI
Managing Director Harjeet Singh Wahan told Daily News Business that
the Sri Lankan market for them has grown by 50 percent last year and
further 50 percent growth is expected in 2012.
