Search on for Horana robber gang

The Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have surrounded the Kumbuka Wanameekanda jungle to nab a gang which had been involved in several crimes in Horana for years. The gang’s latest crime was robbing several shops and banks. The gang had stolen a car and committed the crime, Police said.

Double tragedy in Puttalam

A police constable attached to Puttalam police shot himself after shooting his girl friend dead yesterday, Police said. The constable died of the injuries he sustained. The incident had taken place following a brawl the constable had with his girl friend.
