Moneragala development:
Over Rs 400m allocated

The Economic Development Ministry has allocated over Rs. 400 million
for the development of infrastructure facilities of the Moneragala
district under the Gama Neguma national development programme,
Moneragala District Planning Director Neil Fernando said.
These financial allocations will be utilized for several projects
which will cover various development spheres in the region, he said.
Fernando said around 105 rural roads will be developed at a cost of
Rs.45 million and work on 50 roads have already been completed.
'In addition, 25 water supply projects, 193 small road development
projects, 20 maternity and children clinic centres, 622 school toilet
renovations and 181 preschool development projects will be completed
during 2012,' he said.
