Leadership training programme to extend to six weeks

The Higher Education Ministry has decided to increase the duration of leadership training for university entrants from three weeks to six weeks.

The government organized this leadership and positive attitudes development training programme for the new university entrants with the aim of developing their self-confidence and to make an attitudinal change in students. This programme was conducted at military camps islandwide.

The training programme was made compulsory for the university entrants and a vast majority of the university students of the last batch followed the training.

Preventing of ragging in universities is another objective of the leadership training programme.
