The Employees Provident Fund yesterday presented a cheque worth Rs, 21 million to President Mahinda Rajapaska to grant scholarships to the children of EPF members who have passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination. Over 10,000 children whose parents have contributed to the EPF will benefit by this scholarship programme which is implemented through the People’s Bank. Each student receives Rs. 12,000 through this scheme. Here chairman of Employees Provident Fund K.M. A Godawatte presenting the cheque to President Rajapaksa.
