Command rescued four Indian fishermen whose boat had run aground off the
coast of Delft Island on December 18.

The boat with Indian fishermen on board had drifted ashore, being
caught in rough sea conditions. It had run aground and been partly sunk
when the Navy promptly arrived on the scene and rescued the four
fishermen.
They were given first aid and food at SLNS Wasamba. Contrary to
various Indian media allegations that the Sri Lanka Navy unleashes
violence on Indian fishermen, the SLN has always come to the rescue of
Indian fishermen who were in distress in Sri Lanka waters, sources said.
