Robbers in the guise of buyers nabbed

Two women suspects who had robbed jewellery worth Rs 174,050 from jewellery shops posing as potential buyers were nabbed by the Wennappuwa Police along with the loot on Saturday night.

The police said investigations revealed that the two had visited several shops and hidden some of the items in their dresses while examining jewellery items and walked off from the shops stealthily.

Shopkeepers had realized the loss of jewellery items, long after they left their shops and complained to the Police.
