Chief Opposition Whip condemns alleged attack

Chief Opposition Whip John Amaratunga yesterday speaking to the media at the Parliament complex condemned the alleged attack on UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara in the Parliament lobby.

He condemned this incident which happened when a special committee has been appointed by the Speaker to ensure the discipline of MPs, security and traditions of the House.

He stated that the Opposition was allocated 245 minutes at the committee stage debate on the finance heads of Defence and Urban Development yesterday.
