Sri Lanka will fund US $ 50 million
to promote value added Ceylon tea in the international
market and is on an aggressive marketing plan to increase
the volumes of tea exports to Russia. Here, Plantations

External Affairs Minister Prof G L
Peiris addressed ambassadors, High Commissioners and consuls
at his ministry yesterday (19). The minister briefed the
diplomatic community on a wide range of issues connected
with matters referred to in the LLRC report, current
initiatives in both the political and economic spheres,
ongoing political discussions with Tamil parties, and
further measures to consolidate the advantages of peace and
political stability. Deputy Minister Neomal Perera and
Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Thilak
Amunugama were also present. Here Prof G L Peiris addressing
