Ceylon chamber of commerce wins gold award

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the premier business chamber in the
country walked away with a Gold Award in the category of Non Government
Organizations (NGOs) and Not for Profit Organizations (NPOs) at the 47th
ICASL Annual Report Awards ceremony recently.
The awards has become a benchmark for many leading corporates in the
public and private sectors and signify excellence in annual financial
reporting. Winners for the Annual Report Awards are selected based on
stringent selection criteria by a panel of judges from professional
institutions and public bodies in the country. The selection criteria
include reporting of financial and business performance, compliance with
accounting standards, legal requirements, corporate governance,
corporate social responsibility, timeliness, clarity and consistency.
Commenting on this achievement of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce
CEO/Secretary General Harin Malwatte said, “it is indeed an honour to
win a gold award for our annual report and this achievement goes shows
that at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce we are operating based on high
standards and there is good governance and transparency in what we do.?
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, being the oldest business chamber in the
country with a history that spans more than 172 years, has truly set an
example for all its members to follow. “We have set the benchmark, to
not only maintain it but aiming even higher,” Malwatte said.
