Lanka reaches 30pc productivity growth

‘Productivity consciousness has acquired worldwide momentum. Sri
Lanka’s productivity growth is around 30 percent. Higher productivity is
necessary for the survival of any nation. Sri Lanka as a developing
country, also needs more productivity’, Productivity Promotion Minister
Lakshman Seneviratne said.
The minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the three
day workshop which was held for members of Municipal Councils and
Pradeshiya Sabhas in the Hambantota district, recently. The three day
workshop had been organized by the Productivity Secretariat under the
guidance of Minister Seneviratne, according on a request made by Namal
Rajapaksa, MP.
‘An attitudinal change is important for higher productivity in Sri
Lanka. This will also help bring the best results and make a real
difference. All segments of society should have an attitudinal change.
Development of human resources is also very important to in our quest to
become a developed country’,he added. “Minicipal Council and Pradeshiya
Sabha members have a responsible role to play in the country’s future
development. They should give correct leadership and help the country’s
march to progress. We have a responsibility to encourage them’ he said.
‘Politicians should be honest and should listen to others. They should
respect the opinions and ideas of others. Then, they will be respected
by the public”, the minister said. |
