UNP leadership vote today
There was anxiety at Sirikotha when UNP Deputy
Leader Karu Jayasuriya handed over his nomination papers to contest
the position of party leader at the party’s working committee
meeting yesterday, Sirikotha sources told the Daily News. The UNP
Committee will hold a vote today for the position of UNP leader, the
sources said.

‘Final solution only through PSC’
UPFA Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena
yesterday emphasized that any final solution to the Tamil question
will only be through the PSC process. MP Gunawardena who is the
Secretary of the committee appointed to have discussions with the
TNA said there was no deadline agreed to or even discussed as to the
committee proceedings.
