how the world moves towards the new technology.
He stressed the point that Sri Lanka too is capable of providing such
facilities.
He said "It is a pity that although we talk about our high literacy
rate, it is not very high when compared with other developed countries
mainly due to the international communication barriers such as very poor
knowledge of English in the majority population."
The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) President
Danesha Perera explained the reason for selecting such a valuable topic.
He elaborated the revolution from machine age, information age to
knowledge age. Further he elaborated the transition of the newspaper to
magazines, radio, TV to Internet.
Perera said by looking at certain published research data of Social
Media in the internet shows that countries such as Taiwan and China
moved to Internet browsing very fast and also shows time spent in the
Internet is more when compared with the countries that are under slow
progress in development. |
