Warning to Sri Pada pilgrims

The police have advised persons on pilgrimage to Sri Pada to refrain from taking alcohol, polythene and plastics. They have also advised the public not to bathe in streams and rivers in the area, as several deaths have been reported.

A number of deaths were also reported during the last season after pilgrims heading to Sri Pada by train, had fallen off the footboard.

The police advised pilgrims not to travel on footboard while travelling by train to Hatton.
