Lalith de Silva Mobitel CEO again

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has reappointed Lalith de Silva as the company's Chief Executive Officer. De Silva was also Mobitel's first CEO to assume duty following the acquisition of the company by Sri Lanka Telecom in 2002 and was instrumental in laying the foundation for the company's rapid technological and market growth.

Garment Services to invest US $ 1.1 m on new venture

Garment Services Lanka Ltd in Delkanda has agreed to invest over US $ 1.1 million in a new garment factory that will produce garments for European countries. Company Director Christopher Katukurunda told Daily News Business that the new factory, Garment Services Meegoda will provide around 500 employment opportunities for youth in the area.
