Indo-Lanka trade tops US $ 4b
Indo-Sri Lanka trade has shown a very robust
growth of 20 percent in the last ten months of this year. The trade
between the two countries had passed the US $ 4 billion mark during
the period.
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has reappointed Lalith
de Silva as the company's Chief Executive Officer. De Silva was also
Mobitel's first CEO to assume duty following the acquisition of the
company by Sri Lanka Telecom in 2002 and was instrumental in laying
the foundation for the company's rapid technological and market
growth.
EPSI Computers becomes first CarbonNeutral computer hardware
company
EPSI Computers and The Carbon Consulting Company
culminated their successful partnership with the certification of
EPSI Computers as South Asia's first CarbonNeutral computer hardware
company in Colombo recently.
Garment Services to invest US $ 1.1 m on new venture
Garment Services Lanka Ltd in Delkanda has
agreed to invest over US $ 1.1 million in a new garment factory that
will produce garments for European countries. Company Director
Christopher Katukurunda told Daily News Business that the new
factory, Garment Services Meegoda will provide around 500 employment
opportunities for youth in the area.
