Private van service started

Private van owners at Kodikamam have started a new van service to Jaffna from Kodikamam through Musuri.

Daily a van will leave Kodikamam at 6.50 a.m. and pass through Meesalai Puttur Junction, Vempirai, Kanaganpuliyady junction, Madduvil Pantrithalachchy Amman Kovil Musury. Maduvil South, Kaithaddy Nunavil Vyravar koviladdy and reach Jaffna. The same day another van will start from Jaffna and reach Kodikamam covering the places covered by the morning van. This service has been started at people's request of Madduvil East West at Musury.

Nallur PS wins first place

Nallur Pradeshiya Sabha has won the first place in the managerial contest conducted among 325 Pradeshiya Sabhas in Northern and Eastern Province.

It was awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a certificate. Its excellence was judged on office management, income and public relationship.

The second place was won by Thirukovil Pradeshiya Sabha in the Eastern Province.
