Lankans arrested for alleged theft of gold necklaces in S'pore
Two Sri Lankan men aged 31 have been arrested by the police in
Singapore for the alleged theft of two gold necklaces. The police were
alerted to a case of theft at a pawnshop along Serangoon Road, Singapore
on December 1.
Investigations revealed that a man had entered the pawnshop at about
9.55am the same day and requested to view two gold necklaces in the
display.
The man then ran out of the shop after the staff handed over the gold
necklaces.
He was seen running towards the direction of Kitchener Road where he
was observed meeting with a man believed to be an accomplice.
Both men then fled in a taxi. Police officers established the
identities of the suspects through extensive investigations and mounted
an operation to apprehend them.
