England retain Dubai Sevens crown
Defending champions England retained their Dubai
sevens crown after beating France 29-12 to claim the second leg of
the IRB World Sevens Series here on Saturday. Ben Ryan's side edged
New Zealand (10-7) and Fiji (19-12) in the knock-out phases, and
proved too powerful for a French team that had shocked South Africa
in the quarter-final to set up a first last-four appearance since
2007.

Sri Lanka take on Afghanistan today
Sri Lanka who registered the first victory of
the SAFF Championship when they outplayed Bhutan by 3-0 will meet
Afghanistan at the same venue today. Today's game is vital for Sri
Lanka as if they defeat Bhutan, they will qualify for the
quarter-final irrespective of the result of the match against India

Pattinson the hero as Australia thrash Kiwis
Debutant paceman James Pattinson spearheaded
Australia to a crushing nine-wicket victory in the first Test
against New Zealand inside four days at the Gabba on Sunday.
