New indoor sports complex for Gateway College

The new Indoor Sports Complex of Gateway College Rajagiriya was opened by the former Sri Lanka cricket captain Aravinda de Silva.


The Sports Complex of Gateway College International
at Rajagiriya.

The new sports complex consists of badminton, squash courts and a gymnasium which meets international standards.

Gateway College Director Dr Harsha Alles said “as a school that offers only the international curriculum and has a student population of 1700, Gateway’s performance in sport has been commendable”. He said that Gateway College has produced many sportsmen and women who have come up to international level.

De Silva said that Gateway College is fortunate to have a head like R I T Alles.

Gateway has produced many athletes. “For a child, we expect an all rounded education. Gateway College has shown in example how it should be done. I wish you all the best,” added de Silva.

The founder of Gateway College R.I.T.Alles, Head of sports Derwin Perera, Principal of Gateway College Kandy, Herath, Principal of Alethea International Kumari Hapugala, Principal of the College of World Education and the President of the International Schools Principals Association Frank Jayasinghe were also present.
