‘Govt aware that religious background is necessary for spiritual
development’

Parliament met at 9.30 am yesterday. After the presentation of
papers and oral questions, the House took up the Financial Heads of
the Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs, Culture, Arts and Ports and
Highways, for debate during the committee stage of the Budget 2012.

Cricketers salaries before Dec 15
Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage stated
in parliament Thursday that the salaries of Sri Lanka cricketers for
the series following the world cup this year would be paid before
December 15.
