Munchee was the main sponsor of the Sri Lanka Army Inter-regimental
Athletic Meet which concluded recently at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium
in Diyagama, Homagama. Munchee, the flagship brand of Ceylon Biscuits
Limited (CBL) came forward to sponsor this event as an integral part of
the corporate social responsibility stance of CBL Munchee to develop
skills in the area of Athletics and show appreciation to the war heroes
in a meaningful way.
This is the sixth consecutive year that the Munchee extended its
helping hand for this annual event organized mainly to showcase sporting
talents of the Army.
Around 3000 competitors including national level athletes in the Army
participated in the three day event. The Munchee challenge trophies for
the best male and female athletes were won by Sargent C R K Mendis of
Gemunu Regiment and Lance Corprol T Rathnakumari of the Army Womens
Corps respectively. |
