The Norwegian government has paid their attention on Sri Lanka's
knowledge on power recycling. Sri Lanka's use of recycled power as a
sustainable solution for the power crisis in the country was discussed
at a meeting between Norwegian Ambassador Hide Haralstad and Power and
Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.
The envoy said Norway hopes to promote recycled power in their
country as well.
This effort will be another step to strengthen bonds between the two
countries, she said. Ambassador Haralstad said she will take all
measures to pass Sri Lanka's knowledge on recycled power in Norway.
She added that Norway uses wind and gas to generate power. She
pointed out that Sri Lanka can generate power using gas from the gas
deposit discovered recently in the country. It will also contribute to
the country's economy as well, she said. The ambassodor also pledged to
provide assistance to develop the tourism industry in Sri Lanka as well. |
