Three-wheeler driver dies in collision

A three-wheeler driver injured in a jeep-three wheeler collision at Inyagala junction on the Negombo-Colombo road around 1 am Thursday, succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Ragama Hospital. He was identified as Mohamed Rafik Mohamed Hilmy, 35, of Beach Road, Negombo.

The injured jeep driver is receiving treatment at the Negombo Hospital. Seeduwa Police is investigating.

A motorcyclist injured in a private bus-motor cycle collision at Mudukatuwa on the Wennappuwa-Chilaw Road on Thursday night, succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Marawila hospital.

The deceased was identified as Mirissage Ujith Chaminda Fernando, 33 of Madangahawatta, Nainamadama. The alleged bus driver is in police custody.

Marawila Police is investigating.
