WSO2 joins Cloud Security Alliance
WSO2 has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the non-profit
organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for
providing security assurance within cloud computing. As a member of the
Cloud Security Alliance, WSO2 will join the corporate member advisory
council to provide guidance into strategic CSA initiatives.
Additionally, WSO2 team members will complete the requirements to
achieve the CSA Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge.
The move extends WSO2's commitment to enabling robust, policy-based
security in the cloud. WSO2 first launched WSO2 Identity as a Service
(previously named Cloud Identity) in February 2010. In May 2011, WSO2
was awarded the European Identity Award 2011 in the Cloud Provider
Offerings category by analyst group KuppingerCole. The award recognized
WSO2 for WSO2 Identity as a Service, citing the multi-tenant open source
cloud service for its OpenID and XACML support and its innovative
features, including the ability to migrate from on-premise to a full
cloud service.
"As enterprises extend their information from in-house systems to
popular software-as-a-service offerings, such as Salesforce.com and
Google Apps, they face new challenges in identity and access management.
We created our WSO2 Identity as a Service to address those challenges,"
said WSO2 software architect and senior manager Prabath Siriwardena.
"We're honoured to join the Cloud Security Alliance and look forward to
contributing our real-world experiences in enabling enterprises to
secure their cloud deployments," he said. |
