Delhi Fair provides good opportunities

The Delhi Heart Handicraft Exhibition and Trade Fair had provided a
good opportunity for craftsmen to earn around Rs 4.4 million. Every Sri
Lankan handcraft item offered at the fair were sold during the
exhibition period.

To introduce the global market to Sri Lankan craftsmen, the National
Craft Council organized the Delhi Heart Exhibition and Trade Fair in New
Delhi for the fourth time recently, a spokesman from the National Craft
Council, said.
The Delhi Heart Exhibition and Trade Fair was organized under the
sponsorship of Indian-Sri Lanka High Commissioner's Office and Indian
Handicraft Commissioner's Office, he said.
The exhibition was held under the participation of Indian Handicraft
Commissioner S S Gupta, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Prasad Kariyawasam
and Indian Handicraft Commissioner's Office Director Rohith Baradwaj at
the Delhi Heart Handicraft Exhibition Centre.
Fourteen craftsmen participated in the Fair. There was a great demand
in India due to the high quality and high finishing of Sri Lankan
handcrafts, he said. |
