Agri Hi-Tech mulls investment here

One of world's leading fertilizer manufacturing companies, Agri Hi-Tech Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia is exploring opportunities at investing in Sri Lanka to build an organic fertilizer factory.

International Manager of the Company, Rajasinham Manikkam who was in Sri Lanka told Daily News yesterday they are looking at a local partner to launch their operations. "I met Fertilizer Corporation Senior officials and CIC and Hayleys officials and had successful discussions in this regard," he added.

Agri Hi-Tech is a research and development (R&D) based company involved in the production of commercially viable and highly beneficial microbes primarily for the agricultural, horticultural and environmental management. They have 20 overseas plants.

"We are also keen on a 100 percent venture as we have the capital for it," he said. He also spelled out plans to manufacture fertilizer in Sri Lanka and export to other countries in the region.
