Theft from Southern Expressway

Three nabbed:

Three suspects who had allegedly stolen goods belonging to the Southern Expressway project were arrested by the Panadura anti-vice squad at Baddegoda, Bandaragama on Tuesday following a tip-off.

During the raid conducted on a house owned by a labourer of the Southern Expressway project, the Police recovered four iron plates, two concrete tanks, tin sheets and PVC pipes allegedly stolen from a workshop and arrested him.

On interrogating the suspect, the Police arrested two major racketeers involved in the robberies. The two suspects are attached to the Southern Expressway as a foreman and a driver. These suspects are residents of Pallebadda and Bandaragama areas and aged 30 and 53.
