Two dead, three injured in bus, trishaw crash

Three people died and two others were seriously injured in a collision between a private bus and a three-wheeler at the Samanalagama junction in Angunukolapelassa on Tuesday.

The incident occurred when the private bus plying to Embilipitiya hit a three-wheeler travelling on the same direction on the Nonagama, Embilipitiya road.

A.A. Bandula, 58, W.A. Wimalawathie, 56, and 11-month-old Vimoksha Samadhi of Waladura, Kuruwita died on admission to the Kuttigala hospital.

The trishaw driver and his wife suffered serious injuries. The dead were the trishaw drivers' parents and daughter, the police said. Angunakolapelassa police arrested the bus driver.
