The National Eye Hospital, Colombo will send a greeting card along with a date to get their eyes checked to every patient who receives treatment from the hospital from next year.

“They can get their eyes tested free of charge without any difficulty, if they come to the hospital on the given date,” a Health Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, the hospital has made arrangement to implement this programme to make sure that every person gets their eyes checked on prescribed dates and follow medical advice.

Patients never continue follow-up eye examinations or medical advice, he said.
