Snatch thieves meet their Waterloo

An alert husband and neighbours thwarted an attempt made by two snatch thieves to rob a gold chain and pendant worth Rs 220,000 from a woman riding the pillion of a motorcycle along a lonely road in Thihagoda around 7.30 pm on Monday.

On information officers from the Thihagoda Police had arrived at the scene and caught the other suspect too after a chase. Police investigations are continuing.
