CIC to export rice to France

A first for Sri Lankan agriculture sector:

Specialty Rice is being exported to France for the first time in the Sri Lankan agriculture history. CIC Agri Businesses has taken the initiative in this regard. CIC Agri Businesses Director and CEO Keerthi Kotagama said they started exporting Red Basmathi to France recently and the response was very good.

Lanka to go ahead with H’tota development

Sri Lanka will go ahead building the proposed Commonwealth Games 4,000 roomed Sports Village in Hambantota, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said. The new athletic stadium too will be built.

NDB Group records Rs 1.7 billion profit for 9 months

The NDB Group’s Profit Attributable to shareholders for the nine months ended September 30, 2011 was Rs 1.7 billion as compared with Rs 1.5 billion for the comparative period (a 13% increase), which was due to a strong growth in core banking profits of 14% and improved performance of the group companies.
